Namely, replaced the number 7 injector on my 6.0, along with all the filters, oil, and adding the blue spring upgrade.

Took about 2.5hrs total with the help of a good friend who happened to fix 6.0s for a living.

People who fix things for a living make good friends.

I have a pretty good group of friends, we all assist each other when needed.

My dad just had the turbo replaced on his 6.0 and it finally, at long last, is running well. It’s been a struggle with that one but I think all of the usual suspects have been addressed so hopefully it stays that way for a while.

Mine had EGR delete, oil cooler upgrade, HPOP upgrade, injectors, HGs with studs, and various other things done about 2 months after buying it. Since then it’s needed at least one injector every 6 months or so. The turbo is still original and in great shape however. We bought it with 98k, it currently sits at 147k.

Now that’s it’s running tip top again, I’m going to get it painted and sell it before it causes anymore headache.

What’s the blue spring upgrade?

Increases fuel pressure from about 40 to 60 psi. Supposed to boost power some, but mainly help with injector clogging.

He can’t do the EGR delete but the cooler has been upgraded, as has the oil cooler, the blue spring upgrade, injectors replaced and now the turbo. I had helped him pull the turbo before and replace the vanes and ring but evidently the bearings were shot. I’m not sure that’s the entire list but those are the things he asked me for help with. At least he was able to pull their camp trailer over to the Oregon coast last weekend without it blowing up or acting like it has the engine from a Hyundai Excel under the hood. I think if one more thing goes wrong with it my mom is going to absolutely lose it.

I love it when it works, but it only works about 1/2 the year at any point, so it’s reached my breaking point.
